Parking Garage Condition Assessment (incl. NYC Local Law 126)
Structural condition assessments, repair design and mandated inspections for parking garages and decks.
What the work involves
Parking structures deteriorate from deicing salts, water and traffic, causing spalling, corroded reinforcement and failed joints. Engineers survey conditions, perform testing (chloride, sounding, cores), prioritize repairs and design restoration and protection systems. In New York City, Local Law 126 of 2021 requires periodic condition assessments by a Qualified Parking Structure Inspector, and Local Law 71 of 2024 moved the program toward a four-year cycle after an initial assessment by January 1, 2028, with annual observations between reports.
