Editorial Standards
Our pages are written to help you make a decision, not to sell you one. We follow these rules:
- Sources first. Costs come from published US cost surveys; licensing facts from the state boards themselves; wage data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics; technical formulas from ACI, ASCE, AASHTO, FHWA, USDA NRCS and similar bodies. Sources are listed on each page.
- Ranges, not promises. Engineering fees vary with site conditions, scope and local rules. We publish typical ranges and explain what moves the price.
- No invented projects or reviews. We never publish fabricated projects, ratings or testimonials.
- Calculators estimate, engineers design. Our calculators are for planning. Anything that carries load, retains soil or manages water on a permitted project must be designed and sealed by a licensed PE.
- Corrections. If you find an error, contact us and we will review and fix it.
