Foundation Inspection by an Engineer
A licensed engineer inspects your foundation, explains what cracks and movement mean, and issues a stamped report.
What the work involves
A structural or civil engineer examines the foundation, framing and signs of movement such as cracks, sloping floors and sticking doors, often taking floor elevation measurements. The engineer determines likely causes (settlement, heave, drainage, poor construction) and whether repair is needed, then issues a written report. Unlike a foundation repair company, an independent engineer does not profit from selling the repair.
